Why We Give a Damn
Fashion is a universal language, a beautiful form of expression that allows us to be a part of something larger than ourselves — yet maintain our individuality.
But being part of something larger than ourselves requires a forward-thinking, holistic mindset. A way of thinking that considers our direct and indirect impacts on the world around us.
Every year, the fashion industry produces up to 150 billion garments globally, and nearly three-fifths of that ends up in landfills within just a few years of production. If we simply wore our once-favorite pieces just nine months longer, we could reduce their environmental impact by 30%. And if we just doubled the use of our garments, we could cut their climate pollution by nearly half. This seems like such an effortless commitment to honor the pieces we once loved — and to honor the planet that makes it all possible.
This simple concept powers the ethos of Post + People.
We believe that the future of fashion depends on a circular economy, and Post + People is committed to serving as a channel to advocate for that future.
How We Do It
At Post + People, we source high-quality garments and fabrics that are already in circulation, ensuring that we’re doing our part to keep them out of landfills.
Through all of this, we remind you (and ourselves) that fashion doesn’t have to come at the expense of the earth, it can actually remove waste from the earth. And that’s the design philosophy we bring to life at Post + People.
At the end of the day, the journey of sustainability is about progress, intention, and innovation. We promise to always be honest and transparent as we continue on this journey with you. As we grow and evolve, we’re committed to putting our social and environmental impact at the forefront of our decisions, and below we’ve outlined a few ways we already do just that.
We’re committed to empowering the people we work with by paying fair wages and showcasing their unique talents.
